Current Challenges and Solutions
An International Virtual Conference | August 14 - 15, 2020
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The outbreak started in Chinese province of Wuhan in late December, 2019 and soon has spread to 212 countries. COVID – 19 Pandemic is the greatest challenge faced by mankind in the modern history and a global problem for which there are no cure right now. Since its outbreak, SARS-CoV-2 has infected over 4 million people worldwide with almost 300,000 deaths. Western European Countries and North America have been worst hit; accounting for over two-third cases. Sudden outbreak and global spread of SARS-CoV-2 has challenged healthcare systems worldwide. With high rate of infections and community transmission reported, almost half of the Global Population has remained under strict lockdowns in an attempt to slow down the transmission. This has further led to dire economic consequences and loss of millions of jobs globally.
Clinicians and Scientists are working tirelessly to gather more information/scientific evidence on COVID-19. Nonetheless, many details remain obscure regarding the viral characteristics and host response during infection. SARS-CoV-2 has been detected in saliva, blood, faeces, and urine samples; that further complicates the problem. There is an urgent need to understand Viral load dynamics in multiple samples in order to prevention and control the pandemic. Children and elderly individuals have been described as susceptible groups because of their weakened immune systems. Immunocompromised patients might have higher viral load, prolonged viral shedding, and impaired antibody response and are another susceptible group. An elaborate understanding of the underlying mechanisms of innate and adaptive immune response against SARS-CoV-2 is crucial for understanding the pathogenesis and for designing vaccines.
Entire world is now looking with hope towards the Scientific Community particularly Life Sciences, Medicine, Chemistry and Pharmacology. This unprecedented situation calls for all Scientists/ Researchers / Innovators to come along and work together to find immediate multifocal solutions. The goal of this Conference is to bring together best of the thinking minds on a common virtual platform to present their understanding, knowledge, research, forecast, solutions, views and all the more to be discussed urgently. Collective knowledge, experiences and technical understanding of Scientific Community is the need of the hour and with COVID-19: Current Challenges & Solutions Virtual Conference, it will shed some light towards the unknown path this virus has set human race to.
The Conference aims to covers multiple facets as SARS-CoV-2 has impacted various aspects of humanity; yet the goal remains focused to seek the answers to most important questions; Understanding of SARS-CoV-2 at molecular and biochemical level, Treatment options and Alternate Therapies, Vaccine Development, Patient management, Understanding of progression of COVID-19. Encouraging “out of the box thinking” by young minds to this Global Problem can help create innovative medical equipment or seek solutions in a different manner. Conceptual / Theoretical ideas as well as specific case studies in form of Presentations are also invited.
